PETER ESR8 Oskari Leppäaho participated on the 2021 European Researchers’ Night event in Paris called “La Nuit européenne des Chercheur·es 2021” in French. This event was organised simultaneously in many cities Europe wide on the same day (Friday, September 24th), and sponsored by the European Union. One of the themes in the French version was researcher mobility, which was also a requirement for the PETER researchers. Thus, the event organisers were delighted to receive Oskari’s contribution to the event together with other international researchers from various different fields.
He shared his views on what it is like to be an expat researcher at 18:30 Paris time and took part in “speed searching” at 20:15. The latter is a format of “speed dating” for researchers, where members of audience have 10 minutes to pose questions to a single researcher, after which they will get to meet a next one from another field for another 10 minutes. There were fast and surprising questions and answers with a lot of smiles and a bit of laughter, while the researchers satisfied the curiosity of the public and discharged their knowledge out to the world!
